What you need to know about Wet AMD

As part of our commitment to keeping you informed about advancements in eye care, we would like to share important information regarding age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a condition that affects a significant portion of the elderly population.

As the baby boomer generation ages, the prevalence of AMD is expected to rise substantially, making it crucial for us to keep you updated on the latest developments in treatment options. One of the primary treatments for neovascular AMD involves anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents (injections), which have shown significant improvements in prognosis over the past 15 years.

In large-scale clinical trials, anti-VEGF injections has successfully maintained visual acuity in more than 90% of patients. Moral of the story, if you have macular degeneration it’s important to get screened. And if you do develop the WET type (meaning bleeding or swelling), then getting on treatment as soon as possible with a retina specialist will afford you a good chance at maintaining your vision.

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Esparaz is a national recognized retina specialist practicing in Cleveland, Ohio with extensive experience using different medication injections to treat wet amd successfully.

We encourage you to stay informed and engaged in your eye care journey. If you have any questions or concerns about your AMD treatment, please do not hesitate to reach out to our dedicated team of professionals. Your well-being is our top priority, and we are committed to providing you with the best possible care.
